A colleague asked me to do the following:
- Go to maps.google.com
- Click on “get directions”
- Type “New York” in the first box (the “from”box)
- Type “London” in the second box (the “to” box)
- Check out the time it costs.
- Scroll down to step #23
For the impatient ones, it seems to take 3,938 mi (about 29 days 10 hours). And here is a screen grab of what I got (Make sure you notice what step 23 is!):

Yes! Funny that one can swim across the Atlantic only to reach European cities! I tried some non-European cities, and could not get any result 😦
